I should probably update this post to note that the latest word is that tumblrs porn bann was allegedly planned months before Apple pulled the app, so this analysis is very theoretical.
Understood. I feel what that changes is the timing of the trigger, though, not the underlying forces.
the internet being taken over by apps is something I've been reading about, but not witnessed until this happened.
It's an amazing crash course.
And makes me think Dreamwidth never is going to develop an app, gatekeeping being so much not their thing.
